라스베가스에서 동양 의학의 새로운 장을 열다: 원구 한의과 대학

원구 한의과 대학(Wongu University of Oriental Medicine)은 라스베가스에서 동양 의학의 깊은 철학과 현대 의료의 통합적 교육을 통해 학생들에게 새로운 가능성을 열어주는 특별한 공간이다. 2012년 설립된 이래, 우리는 한의학의 가치를 전 세계적으로 확산시키고 있다.

원구한의대는 미국 내에서도 드물게 한의학 석사 학위(MSAHM, Master of Science in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine)를 제공하며, ACAHM(Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine)의 인증을 받아 높은 교육 품질을 보장하고 있다. 한의학, 침술, 한약학을 중심으로 체계적인 커리큘럼을 통해 학생들은 음양오행, 경락학, 그리고 한약학을 배우는 동시에 서양 의학 기초 지식인 해부학과 생리학도 함께 공부한다. 이러한 통합적 교육은 동양과 서양의 장점을 동시에 활용할 수 있는 전문가를 양성하는 데 목표를 둔다.

특히 저희 부속 클리닉인 Wongu Health Center는 학생들이 실질적인 임상 경험을 쌓을 수 있는 곳으로, 학교에서 배운 이론을 실습하며 치료와 치유의 중요성을 배우는 소중한 공간을 마련되어 있다. 학생들은 이곳에서 지역 사회에 기여하며 실력을 키우고 진정한 의료인이 되는 길을 걸어가고 있다.

다양한 국적과 문화적 배경을 가진 학생들과 함께 학문적 성장을 이루며, 서로의 경험을 나누고 배울 수 있다. 또한, 한국인 교수진이 있어 한국인 학생들에게는 더욱 익숙하고 든든한 학업 환경을 제공한다. 필요할 경우 한국어 보충 설명과 상담도 가능해, 유학생들이 언어와 문화적 장벽을 뛰어넘을 수 있도록 돕고 있다.

졸업 후 한의사 면허를 취득하면, 개인 클리닉을 개업하거나 통합 의료 센터에서 활동하며 현대 의료와 동양 의학을 결합한 치료법으로 지역 사회에 기여할 수 있다. 또한, 교육자나 연구자로서 한의학의 발전에 힘쓰거나, 글로벌 무대에서 활약하는 전문가로 성장할 수 있는 길도 열려 있다.

Opening a New Chapter of Oriental Medicine in Las Vegas: Wongu University of Oriental MedicineWongu University of Oriental Medicine is a unique place in Las Vegas where students are given new opportunities through the integration of the profound philosophy of Oriental medicine and modern medical education. Since its establishment in 2012, we have been spreading the value of Oriental medicine worldwide.

Wongu University is one of the rare institutions in the United States offering a Master of Science in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (MSAHM). Accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (ACAHM), the university ensures high-quality education. With a systematic curriculum focused on acupuncture, herbal medicine, and Oriental medicine, students learn about yin-yang and the five elements, meridian theory, and herbal pharmacology. At the same time, they study the foundational knowledge of Western medicine, including anatomy and physiology. This integrated education aims to cultivate professionals who can leverage the strengths of both Eastern and Western approaches.

In particular, our affiliated clinic, Wongu Health Center, provides students with valuable clinical experience. Here, students practice what they learn in school, gaining hands-on experience and understanding the significance of treatment and healing. It also serves as a platform for them to contribute to the local community, enhancing their skills and embarking on the path to becoming true healthcare providers.

Students from diverse nationalities and cultural backgrounds come together to achieve academic growth, sharing and learning from each other's experiences. Furthermore, with Korean professors available, Korean students are provided with a more familiar and supportive academic environment. Additional explanations and consultations in Korean are available as needed, helping international students overcome linguistic and cultural barriers.

After graduation, students can obtain a license to practice acupuncture and open their own clinics or work in integrative healthcare centers, contributing to the community by combining modern medicine with Oriental medical treatments. Graduates may also pursue careers as educators or researchers, advancing Oriental medicine or becoming professionals making an impact on the global stage.
